Bless those who curse you.
THIS fantastic print is hanging on my wall – I got it at the Urban Expression conference earlier this month, to hang by my desk.
It says in full: “Bless those who curse you. What credit is it to you if you only do good to those who are good to you?”
It’s by Micah Purnell and it’s one of my favourite things for days like these – I’ve tweeted and Instagrammed it recently but finally got around to finding a link for it!

COOKING ON A BOOTSTRAP 
I love this. If I feel someone is being rude to me, I always make sure I am extra nice to them. Why lower yourself to their sad and negative level. They must have their own problems, to feel the need to be dissing me.
And lend, expecting nothing in return. Luke 6:35
How true, and there is both sancity and humanity in the blessing for it returns to you. Love it!
I used to get upset at those aiming personal abuse my way (not an unfamiliar experience), now I just look at them, blink, and start talking about something else or talking to someone else.
Having disinvested myself of concern about what other people think of me, It’s amazing to observe how much passion and energy some folk will expend in desperately trying to gain your attention and reaction.
They’re the ones who are experiencing some kind of personal emptiness or deficit in their existence, that’s why they crave the emotional succour and sustenance which they desperately try to claw from others who are not like them.
Er, actually, credit where it’s due; it’s from Luke’s account of Jesus, in Luke 6, verses 28 “Bless those who curse you, pray for those who ill-treat you”; and 33 “And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even “sinners” do that.” Paul also quoted it in Romans 12:14 “Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse…Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone” I think a lot of people in authority could do with a weekly reminder of such advice. Like they used to get in church, perhaps?

Part of me thinks that you must be getting something really right if you are making such a good point that others can only reply in personal insults. They are clearly either not articulate enough or have no well thought out answers to the point you are making! There’d always the intelligent, pretty and articulate- makes you a triple threat! Keep it up!
Except LIttlejohn, obviously. That would be wrong.

I always believe that you should treat people how you would like to be treated yourself….and find that if someone is rude to you then just treat them extra nice and make them feel like an idiot for been nasty in the first place.
